For an art class we had to create a work around the concept of “the archive.” I decided to make a video piece of my journey thus far through the lens of positive disintegration using edited photos of myself from 0-24. The photos are arranged in time to an electronic funk song I made called Mad Planet which features my humorous and intense ruminations about being weird and mentally ill on the internet. The video and song are a trippy archive of my experiences with mental illness and growing up with an autism diagnosis among other mad things, signified by the psychedelic photo edits and wavy effects of the video as it spirals into some good humored madness—a reflection of my grueling and bizarre positive disintegration process to get me where I am today.
You also get to see baby Funk God and Inner Child Funk God ;)
