Detrans Day of Awareness is coming up soon on March 12th. As the number of detransitioners grow, so does the need for awareness and resources for this misunderstood population. I created a t-shirt campaign to raise money for support and spread awareness of detransition and detransitioner’s issues.
Support the cause and buy a shirt here!
The design is one of 3 “detrans awareness” shirts I made in my graphic design class, with a funky lizard to represent regeneration. Because some lizards lose and regrow their tails, the lizard has become a covert symbol of detransition and the physiological growth detransitioners go through as they heal from the profound medical and emotional changes undertaken by their body, often on a deep journey towards self-acceptance.
The lizard wears a Returning-Venus symbol on its forehead to illustrate the cycle back to womanhood and female identification myself and other female to males to female detransitioners experience. The lizard is surrounded by funky shapes because, well, Funk God, but also as a symbol of hope for lighter and groovier things for detransitioners in the future as the healing process moves forward.
Donations from these shirts will go towards organizations helping detransitioners. If you don’t fancy a shirt, please donate to the cause anyway on the campaign page where it gives an option to make a one-time donation. Also please consider spreading this campaign link around so that as many people as possible can see it and share in promoting awareness of the harms being done to patients in the medical industry today.
