It was the 2021 Covid lockdown.
Genspect had formed and was offering help to detransitioners. I was 24, 6 months into the first proper therapy I’d ever received. Like many, I hadn’t left the house in months and my college life was completely virtual.
The world was disintegrated.
As I healed and learned about the gender industrial complex, I began speaking publicly about my detransition. It was exciting to understand gender ideology but I was only beginning to unravel complex grief from childhood abuse. Isolation pervaded, loneliness abounded. I had a therapist but was otherwise alone.
