How the hell do you title your life? How can you choose just one line to describe it? And how do you market your trauma?
These are just a few questions I have to consider when releasing my detrans memoir. This book is not just another condemnation on gender ideology or a parental guide—it’s my actual life story. The most vulnerable parts of my life, written in vivid detail for reader consumption, are in these pages. Adding on the need for marketing, promotion, and sales, it’s a mindfuck to experience.
This is the reality of taking on responsibility as a public detransitioner. Over the years I evolved from detrans victim to detrans advocate to professional patient advocate who has detransition in their history. I’m ecstatic to have reached the level of health necessary to even suggest writing a book, let alone being on track to publish by December 2024. The task is gruelling, but its rewards are worth the trouble.
